Do You Believe in Magic?

With the Miami Heat reeling off wins and the Magic's recent slide, Magic GM Otis Smith decided it was time to clean house.

The Magic sent Vince Carter's corpse, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, their 2011 1st Round pick and cash to the Phoenix Suns for Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu's comatose body and Earl Clark.  Not finished there they swapped Rashard 'I got max money so I'm the next Derrick Coleman' Lewis for Gilbert Arenas and his gun collection.

I personally feel that this move will be extremely beneficial for the Magic, giving them some added scoring and another point guard.  Carter and Lewis have saddled the Magic with their terrible defense and low scoring all season.  I think Arenas is going to go Mike Vick status in Orlando and flourish as the Magic's shooting guard or point guard.  Richardson has made more three's this year than Carter and Lewis combined and plays good d, with him and Redick off the bench the Magic have serious shooters to surround Dwight Howard with.

The Wizards cleared out Arenas and have official handed the franchise over to rookie point guard John Wall.  However Lewis' contract is enormous and probaly won't be able to be moved to another team.  The Suns meanwhile continue to put in zero effort to help out Steve Nash.  In the last six years they have lost all-stars Amar'e Stoudemire, Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion (while he was still good.)  They've gotten rid of solid role players in Leandro Barbosa, Boris Diaw (fit excellent in their system), Jason Richardson and Louis Amundson.  They fired one off the most successful coaches in franchise history and have sold draft picks, most notably the pick that turned into Rajon Rondo for the Boston Celtics.

The Magic have not improved since making the NBA Finals two seasons ago and with all the attention on Miami Otis Smith felt it was time to make a move.

  1. Still hoping Carmelo goes to NY. I don't know why but I have been finding myself rooting for the Knickerbockers.

  2. Aside from the Cavs, there are only five other teams I look forward to watching:
    The Knicks (most entertaining offense)
Timberwolves (Kevin Love is my boy)
Warriors (no shot is a bad shot)
Heat (watch them on League Pass and root for other team)
Lakers (Ron Artest is the funniest man alive)
